Omanie Elias has a life-long passion for creating fine art in all kinds of media, including pencil, charcoal, watercolour, India ink, oil, acrylic, stained glass, textiles, wood and even on occasion, snow. While she has had little formal training in fine art, her career in the theatre has helped her to continue to develop her skills with texture and colour and her eye for detail and accuracy. As a scenic artist and set designer Omanie has worked for many of the professional companies in Vancouver, and while she loves the variety she regrets that it does not leave as much time for painting and drawing as she could wish. Her work has been exhibited by the Surrey Art Gallery, the Delta Arts Council and the Arts Council of New Westminster.
