Artist Statement
Classical art is dying out, replaced by the consumeristic “creative entrepreneur” of the modern world. But I am not in despair, I have not lost my direction or my ideals.
The created shape of sculpture can become art and eternal charm. This lies in the essence of sculptural language. The spirit of art itself is the fusion of independent thought and humanistic spirit.
Biography
Geemon was born in Inner Mongolia, China in 1968. He graduated from a fine arts high school at 18 years old and began studying sculpture. Ten years later, his works began to be exhibited at the National Art Gallery of China in Beijing. When he was 37 years old, he immigrated to Canada as an outstanding artist. In the past 20 years, he has been an elected member of the Sculptors Society of Canada and the National Sculpture Society of the US.
