The self-guided crawl is arranged in convenient neighbourhood clusters that showcase local art in galleries, theatres and historical venues. Neighbourhoods include Sapperton, Downtown, Uptown, Victory Heights and Queensborough.

Festivities begin on Friday evening August 12th, with wine and cheese party (cash bar) from 5 pm – 7 pm, on the 3rd floor of the Anvil Centre at which you can have a taste of the high quality of art present during the Cultural Crawl. Opening ceremony will be at 6pm with local and provincial dignitaries. Volunteers will be on hand with maps and routes. Then on Saturday and Sunday the N. W. Cultural Crawl starts at 11 am and runs until 5 pm both days

You can head over to the big box or trendy decorating store in your neighbourhood, struggle to find a parking spot, wade your way through the crowds and stand in a long line-up to pay for an art print for your wall. Or you can come to 100 Braid St and for the same price purchase an original piece of art. You can soak in the beauty, peacefulness and energy of the studio, talk to the artist, find out the pieces back story and learn about the processes that went into its creation. Each time you look at your art it will fill you with satisfaction and memories of this rich artistic and cultural experience.
So why big box store art when you can buy original?

    Hi Susan!

I’m helping you out with this, aren’t I?

I’m working Saturday (my last day at Whole Foods) but am free Sunday to volunteer with you.

Let me know what time you’d like me to come along.

    Looking forward to seeing you!

    Mathew
